Our reputation as one of Gauteng's favourite restaurants has been built on the consistent quality of our menu, which offers a selection of home cooked & old world favorites from our South African roots.
We are a family restaurant, perhaps you could consider us a steakhouse – but with our wide variety of dishes, a very unique one.
We believe that it’s what’s on your plate that matters most to you.
Come taste and discover us for yourself.
We begin our story in February 2005 at a quaint little Steers in Atlasville.
Ever since I can remember, our family has always had a passion for good food presented by excellent customer service. We believe this to be our winning differentiator. We acknowledge our customers, their loyal support creates the success of our business. We thank you by serving tasty treats at great value.
Once we had settled into the business of running our Steers, perfecting our mother-daughter duo, we added a good old-fashioned fish outlet named Fish 'n. People loved the good tasty like home meals, helping us turn the business into a huge success.
Deciding this was still not enough, we begin a new adventure in 2012, investing in a Total Petroport on the National N3 highway. This was something totally different and it took a great leader like our dad to tame this monster, turning the petrol station into a welcoming place for travellers. Itching for a new challenge, our family sold all existing businesses to take on yet another adventure.
Purchasing the "House of Ribs" Restaurant in Boksburg, in 2015, lovingly nicknamed the "locomotive" by our parents, was a dream come true and it set our entire family on a new and exciting, fast-paced journey of discovery.
We have given the restaurant a "face-lift", amazing what a good coat of paint can do. Let's not forget the love, sweat and tears it took to get us to where we are today, making this restaurant a great venue to relax, unwind, and dine, turning it into the fine establishment it was born to be.
What Customer's Say
I really enjoyed the service from Joyce, classic, neat and clean.
Enjoyed the food, it was very delicious.
Yesterday, Friday the 16/02/2018 was my birthday. My wife & I went for dinner at this eatery. We settled for their buffet which has much more food than the set menu! we welcomed from virtually at the doorstep by someone I assume was the duty manager who escorted to our table & introduced us to a lovely lady, Tracy - what an angel this latter day was on our service! Food was out of this world under general. Oh, by the way the surprised me with a birthday song - either my wife told them or when i booked i gave away the message - but it was appreciated. I will definitely go back. For the price, I think their food is of high quality!!
We came to Boksburg for business and stopped at The House of Ribs for something to eat. The buffet looked promising, so we decided on that. The variety was big and small portions quickly made the plate over full. The four different meats were well cooked and moist and tender. The vegetables was like true Home-cooked delicious like how grandma used to make it ... very traditional Our experience was really good! Well done House of Ribs
We wanted something nice and easy and what a good choice. The food was nice and the service was friendly. We had a nice meal from the car very and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
We had a small function here and from the beginning when we came to see the venue till the function, the service was great. The venue has a seating area, a small dance floor, serving station and even a private area for the smokers, the food was amazing and the waiters coped so well with all the orders that was flying around. Good value for money.
Having picked up my cousin at the airport and looking for a place to have lunch, we decided to give the House of Ribs a try. After receiving a friendly greeting at the door, we were ushered to our table after passing the delicious buffet spread which, apparently, is their speciality. The a-la-carte menu looked tempting but we had to give the delicious looking buffet a try. Tomato soup was available as a starter as well as a large selection of garden fresh salads which we had. This was followed by slices of succulent roadt pork and beef and the most delicious selection of vegetables. There was also chicken curry, beef stew, pizza slices and pork ribs available but we were too full to give these a go. We finished off our meal with a bowl of ice cream (included) and a cup of coffee (extra cost). Lovely friendly management and staff and will definitely be going back again.
